Dr. Kennedy
Dr. Patrick Kennedy started Kennedy Dentistry in August of 2005 and has been bringing quality service to his community of Powell, TN ever since.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from University of Tennessee at Knoxville, then went on to receive my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at Memphis. My late wife Kelly Ballard was from Powell, TN and convinced me to choose the Knoxville – Powell area due to its wonderful people, beauty, and proximity to our families. I have since remarried to my beautiful wife Sara and we are raising two wonderful daughters, Taylor and Charlotte.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, especially outdoors. We enjoy hiking and swimming and I have recently taken up mountain biking.
Dr. Stansbury
Dr. Trent Stansbury joined Kennedy Dentistry in March of 2015. He claims Johnson City, TN as home, however he had the unique privilege of living all over the world in his youth. His father, a retired Army aviator who flew the UH-60 Blackhawk and UH-1 Huey helicopters, was stationed overseas in Heidelberg, Germany and Singapore, Singapore during his childhood. This experience provided a lot of insight into different cultures, ideals, and experiences at a young age. After retirement from the Army in 1995, his family retired to Johnson City, TN where Dr. Stansbury attended Science Hill High School and graduated as Salutatorian.
After high school, Trent attended the University of Tennessee here in Knoxville to obtain his BS in Biochemistry and Cellular/Molecular Biology, Summa Cum Laude. His Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree was obtained from the University Health Science Center in Memphis, after which he participated in a general dentistry residency program at UT Medical Center. The residency program was an excellent experience in which he not only furthered his clinical skills in dentistry, but also received advanced training in dental implants, implant restoration, rehabilitation of complex cases, and treatment of compromised individuals in an OR setting.
After his residency, Dr. Stansbury worked for the next 6 years in a Kingston, TN general dentistry practice with a focus on both adult and pediatric dental care. He is very comfortable and enjoys working on children of all ages. Each year Dr. Stansbury commits countless hours expanding his dental knowledge through CE courses across the country to update both procedural and technical aspects of his profession to better serve each patient.
In my free time, I enjoy almost anything outdoors. I am an avid hiker, skier - both water and snow, and traveler. I met my wife, Tabitha in high school when I asked her to prom our junior year and never looked back. We have two beautiful children in our growing family. Taylor, who is a splitting resemblance of myself when I was younger, was born in 2012 and Trevor, our newest addition, was born late last year in 2015.
I look forward to serving the Powell community and fulfilling each patients dental care here at Kennedy Dentistry. We will strive to make your visit to the dentist as calm and stress free as possible and utilize a wide range of technology to assist in educating you as the patient to all your restorative options and needs. I hope that our compassion for our patients and dedication to our profession is ultimately evident and create a comfortable atmosphere during your care. I thank you in advance for your interest in our practice and look forward to meeting you, gaining your trust, and treating your dental needs.
Front Office
Teresa
I have been in the dental business for 30 years in the Knox and Anderson County area. I have worked many positions during that time which includes: assistant to the doctor and hygienists, scheduling coordinator, laboratory technician, financial coordinator and now as office manager. I have found each position to be very rewarding. My many years in the business have allowed me to meet some fascinating people who have influenced my life and furthered my career. Dr Kennedy and I started the practice together in 2005. The community has been very supportive of the practice. Since 2005, we have grown from a one doctor one employee business to a two doctor 13 employee business. We strive to meet the community’s needs with all of the latest materials and equipment.
I have been married since 1974 to my high school sweetheart, and have two amazing sons, a special daughter-in-law and five grandchildren. I have been blessed with a Christian home and hard working, friendly co-workers.

I have worked at Kennedy Dentistry for over a year and it has been a refreshing change. I have 2 daughters and have been married for 12 years. Dr Kennedy and our staff are caring and compassionate, treating all patients with respect and fairness.
Jamie
I am a Knoxville native and have lived in the Powell area for over 20 years. I was a dental assistant for 5 years prior to becoming a dental hygienist in 1995. I joined Kennedy Dentistry in 2008 and I feel like I get to work with my second family every day. I love working with patients and helping them keep a healthy smile. I am always excited to learn new techniques and keep up with continuing education throughout the year and like to share that with my patients. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and cooking.
Katie
I graduated from Hiwassee College Dental Hygiene program in 2013. I have a strong passion for helping people. Giving people a reason to smile is an amazing feeling. I love working for Kennedy Dentistry; everyone in the office is so great to be around.
In my time away from the office, I enjoy showing Quarter Horses. As a youth, I traveled the nation with my mother showing horses. It was a great experience I will never forget and I am forever thankful to my parents for helping me pursue my dreams. I also have a Welsh Corgi named Myles that I love very much. In the summer, I take Myles out on the boat for adventures and to play fetch.

I have been a dental assistant for eight years, including the past three years at Kennedy Dentistry. I have a background in pediatrics and orthodontics as well as my current position in general dentistry. What I love about dentistry is meeting lots of people and making them feel comfortable with their dental experience. We have an amazing team at Kennedy Dentistry; I love being a part of this family!
When I am not in the office, I am enjoying my family. I’m married to my high school sweetheart of 13 years and we have two beautiful daughters and two big, lovable dogs. We are always outdoors hiking, camping or on the lake!

I have been a part of the dental profession since the 1970s and have seen many changes in the technological aspect of dentistry throughout those years. Along with the Kennedy dental team, I have seen one thing that has not changed and that is the human element, fear. I strive to assist the patient in overcoming those apprehensions with compassion and helping the patient transform their anxiety into a receptive, composed patient.
I am originally from Texas and lived in Michigan for 16 years. My husband and I transferred here to the most beautiful part of Tennessee in 2001. We have a son who recently married and a daughter. I was fortunate to find the best dental office to work in 5 years ago, Kennedy Dentistry. I am thankful for the atmosphere that our staff provides: caring, accommodating and enjoyable. It makes coming to work not work at all.

I have been a dental assistant for ten years. Dentistry is my passion, whether it is chair side assisting with the doctor or working at the front desk. My favorite aspect of dentistry is dental implants. I am always striving for the next level of learning and expanding my functions. I really try to go the extra mile for our patients to help coordinate treatment and answer questions about insurance benefits. Dentistry has come so far over the last 20 years that it should not have to be a bad or painful experience. I try to help change the way people feel about dentistry and I am confident in the quality of dentistry that our doctors recommend and perform. Our dental hygiene team is, by far, the most educated and experienced that I have met. I am blessed to be a part of such an exceptional dental team.
I am a Knoxville native and I am grateful to live in this beautiful city. I am married with two children, a nine year old daughter and a five year old son. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, traveling, and activities with my church.
